Last week I was riding my bike downtown. All of a sudden my buddies pulled up in this big pickup truck. They said we were going this club. They told me to throw my bike in the back, and we'd be off and running. I thought it was going to be some really lame open mic night at some bookstore, but what I saw made he question the very fabric of reality itself.
When we showed up to where this place was, I simply followed her inside. I probably shouldn't have been so thoughtless, and in retrospect it may have been pretty dangerous, what I did. But nonetheless, next thing I know I was sitting in this plush, red leather chair. And for some strange reason, I didn't feel like moving, at all.
Then this really tall guy came out on this stage. For some reason I thought I was on the only one there, until I heard all these people clapping. It turns out I was at some kind of magic show, or a mentalist show. This guy started doing some pretty crafty illusions, but nothing that I hadn't seen on TV.
What happened next is when it started to get really weird. He started walking around the crowd and picking people at random. He would stop, look at somebody, and then tell them their whole life story. I was pretty sure this was set up, but then he walked up to me and did the same thing. So of course, I thought maybe my friends had given him my information, that it was all some big prank or something.
After that he raised his hands and commanded the clouds that were up in the sky to swirl around in these strange patterns. Again, the skeptic in me is sure there was some kind of video projection deal going on, but I couldn't find any evidence of it. Then he went through and thanked everyone in the audience, calling out their name, address, and phone number. Kind of like an implicit warning not to tell anybody about this weirdness.
The only reason I remember any of this is I had my cell phone recording the whole thing. But when I came home, it turns out all the language spoken that day was in the ancient language of Sumerian, which I've never studied. I had to hire an expert to translate it so I knew what transpired. Now how's that for a weird day? - 31879
